Summer League & Club Swimming
Summer league can be a fun and rewarding experience for swimmers. It brings excitement, team spirit, and frequent racing opportunities, and for many families, it’s a great part of the summer. That said, summer league alone is not designed to support long-term swimmer development.
While summer league emphasizes racing and results, club swimming is where technique, endurance, strength, and efficiency are truly developed through structured training and consistent coaching feedback.
Why staying active in club swimming during the summer matters:
Swimming is a skill-based sport : Time out of structured training can lead to lost feel for the water, technique setbacks, and reduced conditioning.
Consistency builds confidence : Swimmers who train regularly feel stronger, more prepared, and more motivated.
Development happens year-round : Summer is actually one of the best times to improve because athletes can focus on skills without school-year stress.
Proper training prevents bad habits : Guided coaching ensures swimmers continue progressing with correct technique and efficiency.
We encourage families to keep swimmers active in club training throughout the summer—whether that’s club only or club alongside summer league, because consistent training is what truly supports steady improvement, long-term development, and a lasting love for the sport.
SUMMER SCHEDULE
Our April and May practice schedules will be posted on the team website by Wednesday, March 4. Please be sure to check the site once it’s released so you can plan ahead and stay up to date with any adjustments.
We’re excited for the upcoming months of training and progress!
PARENT TIP
Focus on effort, not just results. When swimmers are praised for their hard work, attitude, and consistency rather than only their times or placements, they build stronger confidence, resilience, and a healthier long-term relationship with the sport.
