COACHES INTRODUCTION

MEET RECAP
January was another strong month of competition for TEST, with our swimmers racing at the TAQ Mardi Gras Meet and the LSST Frosty Open. These meets provided great opportunities for athletes across all groups to test their training, gain racing experience, and continue building momentum for the championship season ahead.
At both meets, our swimmers showed excellent effort and focus, producing solid time drops, improved race execution, and new qualifying standards. Many athletes stepped up in challenging events, applied technical changes from practice, and raced with confidence and determination.
What stood out most was the overall energy, mindset, and team support on deck. Swimmers encouraged one another, stayed engaged throughout long sessions, and represented TEST with pride and professionalism.
We are proud of the progress our athletes are making as the season continues. January’s performances set a strong foundation as we move into the next phase of training and prepare for upcoming championship meets.

Summer League & Club Swimming: Finding the Right Balance
Summer league can be a fun and rewarding experience for swimmers. It offers excitement, team spirit, and frequent racing opportunities—and for many families, it’s an enjoyable part of the summer. That said, summer league alone is not designed to support long-term swimmer development.
While summer league emphasizes racing and results, club swimming is where technique, endurance, and efficiency are built.
Why staying active in club swimming during the summer matters:
Swimming is a skill-based sport – Taking long breaks often leads to lost technique and fitness that must be rebuilt later.
Consistent training supports healthy development – Especially during periods of growth
We encourage families to remain active with club training throughout the summer, as consistent participation is essential for continued improvement, long-term development, and stronger results moving into the next season.
USA SWIMMING REGISTRATION
As we continue the season, please take a moment to log in to the USA Swimming website and confirm that your swimmer’s registration has been renewed and is up to date.
An active USA Swimming membership is required for swimmers to participate in practices and competitions. Thank you for your help in keeping everyone eligible and ready to race!
PARENT TIP
A positive word before or after practice goes a long way. Encouraging effort, consistency, and enjoyment helps swimmers stay motivated and confident, especially during busy or challenging parts of the season.
